Campus Inclusive Restroom Study

In 2022-23, the Institute Community and Equity Office and the Office of Campus Planning sponsored a Campus Inclusive Restroom Study to outline an approach to improve inclusivity in MIT’s nearly 700 public, non-residential restrooms, which occupy more than 200,000 square feet of space across the Cambridge campus. The study findings inform a toolkit of guidelines for restroom design and planning principles for restroom distribution. Learn more.

Community Zoom Rooms: A shared meeting space pilot

The Office of the Provost, in collaboration with the Office of Campus Planning, is piloting a new program to share meeting spaces across campus during the fall of 2022 and through May 2023. IS&T has partnered with Zoom’s Professional Services Organization to equip these spaces with Zoom Rooms solutions offering a consistent experience across diverse locations. A group of Schools and departments have made rooms available to the entire community for the duration of the pilot.  Learn more

Eastman and McDermott Courts Renewal

The MIT Office of Campus Planning is committed to revitalizing open spaces on campus and is currently exploring the renewal of the Eastman and McDermott Courts. The Eastman and McDermott Courts Renewal project aims to balance the needs of twenty-first-century open space users with improved ecological function and the mindful stewardship of this area’s twentieth-century modernist design heritage.
